Job Description:

Stratford EMS is seeking professional and mature paramedics for open Full Time Paramedic positions for our busy, municipal Emergency Medical Service (8500 calls per year / 911 Emergency calls only).  Shifts are 12.5 hour shifts.

The Stratford Emergency Medical Service (SEMS) was established to provide high quality, emergency medical services to the Town of Stratford, CT. SEMS provides 24 hour coverage, 7 days a week, 365 days a year primarily within the 19.9 sq miles that makeup the Town of Stratford and surrounding areas.  The Town has a population of 52,120 (2019). SEMS responds to approximately 8500 calls each year.  Stratford has one of the longest coastlines (with beautiful beaches) and largest forests in Connecticut.  It also has two airports,  two major highways and Metro North rail coming through the south end of town. There is 1 nursing home and 1 assisted living center.  This beautiful and diverse geography gave rise to Stratford’s motto, “Offering More from Forest to Shore”.

Required:

A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.  A Connecticut driver’s license with 3 years experience and excellent driving record is required.  A State of Connecticut Paramedic license, current AHA ACLS, PALS and CPR certifications. NIMS 100, 200, 700 and 800 are required certifications.

Special requirements:

Active medical control in good standing with Sponsor Hospital Council of Greater Bridgeport Medical Control (SHCGB) for a minimum of one (1) year.  Minimum of three (3) years EMS experience.  Must obtain CEVO 4 (or EVOC) driving certification within six (6) months of employment.

Salary:

Per Collective Bargaining Agreement – Town Hall Union Grade 9P ($57k – 72k base currently)
