Description: This two (2) hour, instructor-lead, continuing education course orientates the field provider on public safety communications, emergency medical dispatch and the medical priority dispatch system.

  1. Providers will understand medical priority dispatch systems (MPDS) and their relevance to EMS professionals.
  2. Providers will review current 911 technology, including wireless phase 2/E911, NG911 and its implications for the future, and what information is available to dispatchers via 911 and CAD technologies.
  3. Providers will know how to leverage the skills of your telecommunicators to provide better patient care.
