This 2 hour – Continuing Medical Education session hosted by Stratford EMS will cover the dynamic issue of patient restraint in EMS.

Objectives:

  • The provider will be able to recognize various medical and mental illnesses
  • The provider will understand legal issues related to patient restraint
  • The Provider will be able to recognize where situations can be deescalated to avoid use of restraint where possible
  • The Provider will have knowledge of current methods of physical and chemical restraint within the CT statewide protocol
  • The provider will have some hands on opportunities with different approved restraint systems as well as the new XDCuff system

Intended Audience: All EMS Providers/Responders welcome
