Description:

In this course we will review of the Hazmat Awareness curriculum according to the OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120. We will discuss scene management, Identification, storage, and decontamination. Sean is an experienced Paramedic with over 15 years in public safety. He is currently a Paramedic Supervisor in charge of the Special Operations Team with Stratford EMS. He also currently serves as an CT EMS-Instructor, A HAZMAT Technician, and a Toxmedic.

Our course objectives are:

1. The student will be able to properly identify a hazardous material by Name, UN number or Class

2. The student will be able to understand the risks and responsibilities of operating in a cold zone at a hazardous materials or other special incident

3. The student will be able to identify different classes of hazardous materials

4. The student will have an understanding of the role of the first responder awareness individual
