Who should attend:
The class is open to any active member of an EMS Service in our region. The class is geared to those personnel who are in a leadership or educational role. Participants must attend both days.

Description:
Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) is a two (2) day workshop designed for family, friends, community members and those in formal helping roles who may be the first to talk with a person having thoughts of suicide. ASIST teaches the skills needed to provide suicide first aid help as part of the care you provide.
Participants learn how to:
- Recognize people at risk of suicide
- Talk, hear their story and understand their situation
- Help them stay safe with life-affirming intervention
This training is made available at no-cost by support from the Conneciuct Suicide Advisory Board (CTSAB) and RYASAP.
COVID: Due to COVID-19 guidelines, class size has been limited, physical distancing has been planned and masks are required. Hand sanitizer will be provided.
